The Guy Gift Guide

I’ve had many years of planning gifts, or trying to plan gifts, for my husband. All the way back to our high school days. [He is, oddly, difficult to shop for too]. The task isn’t easy and I’ve always had a hard time trying to find the best gift, through all phases of life.

In more recent years I’ve found it a little easier with the internet being able to give me fantastic ideas I can order. Here are some which were a hit… and some that were a miss.

The world of subscriptions is blowing up – there is a subscription box for almost anything these days. Boxes like this are a great way to give them something over time, and also that someone else curates. I’ve always dealt with the potential of my gifts being returned… this helps prevent that scenario.

Here are some that you can’t go wrong with, so look them up and order for your significant other for the holidays which are coming up soon. [Which is crazy in itself!]

GQ Best Stuff Box – I won’t take credit for gifting this but I’ve seen it and it’s worth gifting. My husband has been subscribing to this for some time now. [Looks like he gifted himself] It’s a quarterly gift box with all sorts of great things for men. The items range from grooming, accessories, clothes, and skin care. Definitely a plus, and all GQ Editor vetted!

Caskers – I find this slightly too expensive but the one benefit here is that you get full size bottles in this subscription box. You can choose from American or World Whiskey boxes and really experience something rare and sophisticated. Biggest con is price, there are other cheap ones out there but for quality I think this is the best bet.

At Home Beer Tap – perfect for an at home bar or outdoor bar, and there are so many options out there. Ones that are larger with temp displays and others that are countertop, mobile taps. This is great for a beer lover and allows them to have a man cave gift that you don’t find an eye-sore and that elevates your at home bar situation. [wait… I need this for myself]

Scotts Pizza Tours – OK this was awesome. We did this when I was pregnant with my first and we loved it. My reason for love was obvious, pregnant and pizza went hand in hand. This tour takes you over the five boroughs on a bus to try some of the most famous, delish pizza there is. They rank them, share them with you, and you are so full at the end of the day… but so satisfied. [Scratch that, I need to do THIS! I feel like gifts that are experience are always the best]

What are some creative gifts you’ve given over the years? Let us know what they are because we’re all searching for good gift ideas!
