Makeup Splurge Guide

From a young age I’ve had this obsession and desire to try all makeup trends and brands. [I have been abusing these trials my whole life] If it was new, I needed it, if it was a trend, count me in. Lots of money spent over the years on anything and everything makeup – but you’re welcome because now I can tell you what splurge items and brands are worth the hype.

Base and Face

Don’t skim out on your prep. [I never prime but I guess I should…] It’s very important your skin is protected and treated like a canvas for makeup. Helps with the makeup setting as well as just overall skin care and protection. Here are a couple base products and foundations I highly recommend!

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer – smooth application and long lasting primer for makeup to live on.

Dior Forever Skin Glow – this is very buildable, can be used with your fingers or a brush, and has a very natural finish and look. This is not matte, but not overly glowy, just enough to make it seem like you’re going foundation free.

Ay-Ay-Eye

Under-eye circles are my biggest issue – there is nothing I have not tried to help hide the puffiness and dark circles. Enjoy the following concealer… worth every penny.

Dior Forever Skin Corrector – this should be matched to your exact tone, not brighter like some others go for. [I always thought it was supposed to match! Is it supposed to be brighter?] You can add brightness with other products but this is perfect for solo wear or with foundation. I wear this often by itself and just bronzer.

Bronzer Baby

Must have product year around, doesn’t need to be summer to have a glow.

Gucci Poudre De Beauté Bronzer – best bronzer, and when I say best I’m not lying. This gives a natural glow with not too much gold tone. [I actually borrowed this once and got so many compliments even though I used it as a blush…]

Lips!

Most important part – these are always in my purse!

Laura Mercier Velour Matte Lipstick – so many colors, perfect matte look and easy to throw in your bag and reapply without it looking cakey.

Chanel Le Rouge Crayon – any Chanel lipstick is fantastic but this is a great glossy look. [I always steal the natural brown from her – it looks great on our skin tone]

There are many products and some are great while some are a pass. Try the ones above and let me know what you think – share a selfie with us!
