Let’s spill the tea

I have never been much of a coffee drinker. Now, I’m not saying that to be bougie – I’ve just never loved the taste and it’s pretty harsh on my stomach [you’re missing out…]. However, the need for caffeine still prevails so I have always defaulted to tea. There are a lot of tools out there for my fellow tea drinkers – and I have tried them all. Here is what I thought.

Traditional Kettle

The classic tea kettle has a few obvious pros: aesthetically pleasing in your kitchen, allows you to steep larger batches, and that whistle which gives me all of the nostalgic feels [a nice clear teapot is on my wishlist]. However, there are some cons with a tea kettle too – requires more patience to watch water boil, takes up a burner, and needs constant refilling. That being said – I still opt for the kettle daily and this one is super cute and lasts me a few cups.

Electric Kettle

I got the electric kettle for my parents for Christmas last year and it has been a big hit. This thing is big – it can hold a ton of water to last you over time without constant refills, and gets hot FAST so is great for my impatient friends. That being said – this is a bit of an eye sore and takes up quite a bit of counter space. If you don’t have a tiny NYC kitchen like mw – this may be for you! This is the kettle I got for my parents and they love it.

Tea Infuser

Once you’ve got that hot water, and don’t have a Tazo bag handy – I have gone through every type of infuser for loose leaf that you can imagine… disposable bags, baskets, balls, all of it [my Teavana is pretty good… but did get messy] This OXO Tea Infuser is the absolute best. Sturdy – so it rests over your glass without warping and mesh is fine so no stray leaves in your tea. Only con is that I like to drink while steeping and you can’t really do that without some maneuvering.

Milk Frother

Last, but not least, for those like me who love a good latté – this handheld frother is key. My guilty pleasure is a chai latté in the morning and this frother makes it blended and professional. Level up your latté game and get this in your cart ASAP. This is good for coffee people and even juice drinkers. Stir it up with the press of a button!

What are your favorite tea tools? Which of the above do you want to try?
