Our brows have been through a lot, from plucking within an inch of life to being drawn in and everything in between. I used to tweeze, thread, and wax – but now I barely touch them! [omg I just got flashbacks of my thin eyebrows in the early 2000s, yikes] Over the years, I have tried a lot of brow products and, for me, brow gels have always been the winner – easy application, a natural look and a flexible hold. Below are some of the gels that I have given a try that work for all eyebrow types, thick or thin.
Benefit Gimme Brow Tinted Volumizing Eyebrow Gel – this is by far my favorite [me too!!! It’s my go to], and I have repurchased quite a few times. This tinted gel is very buildable and keeps a natural feathery look while still maintaining a medium hold. Another great thing about Benefit is they have a ton of color options.
Thrive Instant Brow Fix Semi-Permanent Eyebrow Gel – this is for the girls who like a super filled in brow. This gel offers dense color and a strong hold for a glam look. With that, it’s not the easiest to remove so you will need a good micellar water or make up melt [only thing that works for me to take this off is the makeup melt]. There are only three color options here, blonde, brunette and black.
Glossier Boy Brow – Boy Brow comes in both tinted or clear options (I went tinted for a more full look). This brow gel gives a very natural every-day look with a flexible hold. My only critique would be the tube size which is a bit small, so it needs to be refilled more often. Luckily it is pretty affordable at $16.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel – this clear brow gel was probably one of the most nourishing and hydrating that I’ve tried. With that, this gel gives a very natural look while still maintaining a medium hold. They do have a tinted version, which unfortunately I didn’t try, but feel like I may have preferred. [I have tried the tinted version and prefer it over the clear, gives a little more umph]
Patrick Ta Major Brow Lamination Gel – this one was an out of the box purchase for me. I never really got into the soap brow fad, as I much prefer a natural feathered brow. But this Patrick Ta staple was so popular I figured I had to try. This clear gel was a bit sticky for me (which makes sense to achieve the laminated look) and has a very strong hold.
Revlon ColorStay Brow Fiber Filler Brow Gel – this was my drugstore pick as a quick and easy tinted brow. The formula works like a mascara with hairlike fibers for a filled in look. The formula works quickly but I found it hard to remove. However, the super strong hold left my eyebrows ‘on fleek’ [i don’t think that’s a thing anymore] all day long.
What are your eyebrow staples? Do you use a powder, pencil or gel?
